National fitness program recognizes owner for promoting women’s fitness with inaugural award

Sarasota, Florida, Sept. 9, 2011—Karna Fitness, a national franchisor of small-group fitness programs for women, awarded its inaugural Franchise Owner of the Year to Mauree Brooksher, of Baton Rouge, La., at the Baby Boot Camp and Karna Fitness Annual Conference in Sarasota, Fla., on Sept. 9. 

“I am a former pre-K teacher and have a love for children.  Nutrition and fitness have also been a high-priority to me.  Therefore, I absolutely love getting to work with children and help women achieve a healthy lifestyle through Karna Fitness and Baby Boot Camp,” says Brooksher, who began operating her Karna Fitness franchise in January 2011. “I have put a strong effort into starting and expanding Karna Fitness of Baton Rouge this year.  I am very grateful and honored to receive the 2011 Franchise Owner of the Year Award.”

More than 70 owners from across the country attended business-building classes and exercise demonstrations as part of a four-day conference sponsored by C9 by Champion, Earth’s Best, CalNaturale Svelte protein shakes and Mama Mio skincare, among others.
