2009 Franchise Owner of the Year

Sarasota, Florida, October 9, 2009—Baby Boot Camp, a national pre- and post-natal fitness program, awarded Sutter/Yuba County franchise owner Jill Wheaton its prestigious 2009 Franchise Owner of the Year at its annual conference in Sarasota, Fla., on Oct. 9.
“I was so surprised,” says Wheaton, who began her franchise in 2007. “At the 2008 conference, I felt so frustrated because my business was not where I wanted it to be. But I felt inspired and knew I wanted to come back stronger than ever to 2009 conference. And to win an award like this is such a testament to the moms of Sutter and Yuba Counties, who proved that fitness and health are top priorities for them and their families.”
Following the conference, Baby Boot Camp moms of Sutter/Yuba County surprised Wheaton with flowers and breakfast to congratulate her on her award.
Amy Doody, Baby Boot Camp participant and mother of Miranda, 2, says that she was not surprised that Wheaton received the award. “Since joining Baby Boot Camp last March, I have lost over 20 pounds and gained everlasting friendships. Jill is so motivating, encouraging, understanding, creative, giving and just an all around amazing person,” says Amy Doody.
Available in over 200 cities across the United States, Baby Boot Camp offers cardiovascular and strength workout programs designed specifically to help new parents get back into shape after having a baby. Most classes are held outdoors, and parents bring their babies in strollers or joggers as an integral part of the workout, which is often followed by social events held throughout the area.
