Chief Operating Officer
Liberty, based in San Diego, CA, is most passionate about helping other women reach their goals and find their ultimate balance and happiness. For just over two decades Liberty has focused much of her professional life on women’s fitness, while building a career in franchising as well. She still happens to hold the “youngest female franchisor” title with the International Franchise Association after founding, growing, and selling the Liberty Fitness franchise in the mid-2000s. Since resigning from Liberty Fitness in 2007, Liberty has advised countless franchise companies, fitness-focused and otherwise.
Prior to founding Liberty Fitness, Liberty was a Curves franchisee, and currently owns the licensing rights for EnVie Fitness with her husband, Ryan Bernal. A natural leader, mentor, and entrepreneur, Liberty does prioritize her most important roles as wife and mom. A long-distance runner, group exercise instructor, fitness coach and mentor, she also loves to travel and explore the world as often as possible.
A more recent passion is writing, and Liberty’s first book about women’s fitness is near completion. You can also find Liberty featured in:
- “I Made it by Age 30, and So Can You!”, Marie Claire Magazine
- The Go-Getter Girls' Guide, a book by Debra Shigley
- Austin Woman, Magazine
And read her various quotes in The New York Times, CNN Money, Fitness Business Pro, ACE Fitness Matters, Entrepreneur, Club Business International, Club Industry, Franchise Times, and Franchising World.
